Toussaint

Founding Year
Origins
The family’s roots lay firmly in farming traditions carried from the mainland. Owen and Marion Toussaint brought with them the practical knowledge of soil cultivation, crop rotation, and seasonal planting.
Their only son, Andre, continued this tradition even on returning from the mainland with his future wife, Nora Barreau. Andre and Nora birthed one child, another boy, named Owen. Much like his father, worked the lands like his family before him before he married Emma, a young girl from the orphanage.
Owen and Emma married young, and despite rumored fertility issues, finally conceived one child. William.

Reputation
Historically, the Toussaints were regarded as quiet, hardworking settlers who valued family and honest labor above ambition or influence. They were known for diligence and fair dealings rather than social prominence. The family’s cooperative household structure and modest trading stall made them familiar figures to many neighbors, and their name carried a reputation for dependability.
As the last remaining of their bloodline, William “Billy” Toussaint offers a complete reversal of this quiet lifestyle. His reputation, grown through his friendship and adopted family ties to the Grimland often overshadows the family the man is related.
Traditions
The Toussaint household followed traditions shaped by farming life and strong family bonds. Multiple generations lived and worked together on the same land, sharing responsibility for crops, trade, and daily labor. Seasonal planting and harvest routines structured their year, and trading days at the family stall became part of their regular rhythm.
Now, the Troussaint name is connected to the local burger joint in town, and the man behind the counter.
Present Influence
William “Billy” Toussaint, the only remaining Toussaint continued to try and find his true place in the community despite the troubled path that brought him there. Knowing not all of the truth of his past or his family, he proudly calls himself an ‘adopted Grimland’ and Flo as his mother.
He runs a small but popular burger joint where his natural talent for cooking has earned him a steady stream of customers and a reputation for good, simple food.
Outside of the restaurant he occasionally tattoos from his apartment, a skill he learned during his time on the mainland that has quietly become another way he connects with people.
Billy also maintains a small vegetable garden, something that echoes the farming roots of his family and offers him a quieter kind of satisfaction.
Despite these steady pursuits, he carries a reputation shaped by his reckless past and his close friendship with Richie Grimland.
