Roleplay & Etiquette
We welcome ALL roleplayers of EVERY style, prose & experience. With this in mind, we’ve established an etiquette that is common to most roleplaying sims.
DO
Follow post order to the best of your ability
Wait your turn when joining an on-going scene
Post in if you wish to be considered part of the scene and able to use what you’ve read. If you do not post into a scene, any information used will be considered META!
Give other players a reasonable amount of time to respond, especially during heavy para-rp
DO NOT
Assume what you see is what the reality of the scene is
Negative thought emote WITHOUT adding the accompanying body language or nonverbal cues
Instigate conflict and then walk out of chat range before anyone can respond to you
Avoid consequences by logging, teleporting out, or otherwise using (Out of Character) means to escape
Enter a scene by immediately posting. Please wait for one rotation before posting in
Ignore a player’s LIMITS. It’s highly suggested if you have limits OOCly that you include these on your profile
Ignore another player’s roleplay
Force, bully or coerce a player to RP even though they’ve invoked their right to (Fade to Black)
Metagame; this means using (Out of Character) knowledge (In Character).
Examples; camming, IMs, reading tags.
Godmode; this means controlling another’s RP response, action, or avatar during a scene.
Excessive Powergaming; ie Mary Sue | Gary Stu
Manipulating your own character’s abilities, powers or skills so that you always have an advantage in every situation. Staff will call you out on this.
Remember Safety! Everyone has the right to (Fade to Black). This means that the RP was skipped but the consequences and/or result will continue as if you wrote the scene out. Please do your best to respect the limits of others’ (Out of Character) as long as they are reasonable and no invoked to escape conflict that they, themselves have initiated.
